Kingdom Hearts Re:Chain of Memories is a remake of Kingdom Hearts sequel, Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories. It is packaged with Kingdom Hearts II: Final Mix+ on a separate disc. A few changes has been done prior the remake’s release.

As stated above there are some changes regarding on the game’s remake. Notable changes include:

• 3D cutscenes, along with voice-acting.
• Updated music, including new ones.
• Theater Mode is unlockable, which allows you to view all cutscences in the game. (Replaced Link mode)
• Clearing Kingdom Hearts II: Final Mix+ first will allow Sora to use sleights and Keyblades from Kingdom Hearts II. It will also unlock enemy cards of the Organization XIII members that were in Kingdom Hearts II, with the exception of Axel, who already has an enemy card. It is currently unknown if these cards and features will be obtainable in the US release due to the lack of Final Mix 2.
• Riku is more powerful than in the original game.
• Kigndom Hearts: Chain of Memories was rated ‘E’ for fantasy violence and mild language, whereas Kingdom Hearts Re: Chain of Memories is rated E10+ for Fantasy Violence.

The setting for the game is the same as the previous game: the planet of Ar Ciel, albeit centered around a different region this time. The Tower of Ar tonelico from Meta Falss is different from the tower in the first game since it doesn’t look like a tower initially, but still has some of the same essential facilities (S. P. U., Rinkernator, Symphonic Reactor and Musical Corridor). The Song Magics are still used like programs, but in this tower there are two Song Magic servers: the Sol Marta server and the Infel Phira Server. The Sol Marta server is located in the upper zone of the tower, acting like a stationary satellite. It is collocated with the S. P. U. and Rinkernator and is the main server for the tower. The Infel Phira server is located in a satellite that orbits the sky around the tower and shares its name with said server. The Sol Marta server is the same kind of server that the first tower has, so it works with the same kind of hymmnos and executes the EXEC variety of hymns. On the other hand, the Infel Phira server works with another kind of hymmnos called the Pastalia hymmnos, and executes the METHOD variety of hymns. Each server has its own Symphonic Reactor to act as its power source, the Sol Marta Symphonic Reactor also supplies power to the rest of the tower.
